Our Origin
Born in the place of prayer, shaped by burden, and sent to the nations.
WATCHMEN TO THE NATIONS GLOBAL
Our Origin: Born in the Place of Prayer
Watchmen to the Nations Global was born in the place where every genuine work of God begins: prayer.
Before there was a name, a structure, a program, or a global vision, there was a burden for a nation.
On January 22, 2019, while praying and interceding for Nigeria, the founder of Watchmen to the Nations Global received a profound spiritual burden and revelation concerning the future of the nation.
The message centered on hope, restoration, transformation, and the sovereign intervention of God in Nigeria.
The burden was that Nigeria, despite its challenges, would not be abandoned by God. The nation would experience a season of transformation in which systems of corruption, violence, disorder, and injustice would be confronted; the Church would be called back to spiritual purity and biblical order; and a new generation of godly leaders would emerge in places of influence.
The message also emphasized that God would raise men and women who would bear witness to Him in government, business, industry, leadership, and other spheres of society. Apostles, prophets, teachers, worshippers, intercessors, and faithful witnesses would be raised to serve God's purposes and exalt the name of Jesus Christ.
The central conviction was this: God had not given up on Nigeria.
This burden did not lead to political activism. It led to prayer.
The revelation became a personal call to intercession, and the conviction grew that the future of nations must not only be discussed, debated, or criticized—it must also be brought before God in prayer.
The journey of Watchmen to the Nations Global began with a simple but profound conviction: Nations can be changed when God's people stand before Him in prayer.

From a Personal Burden to a Corporate Call
For several years, the burden for Nigeria remained deeply connected to personal prayer and intercession.
Then, on September 11, 2022, a further instruction came: to organize a 24-hour prayer meeting for Nigeria.
The assignment appeared overwhelming. How could a 24-hour prayer meeting be organized? Who would participate? How could people from different cities and backgrounds be brought together in prayer?
But the instruction was obeyed. That same day, a video was recorded and published on YouTube and Facebook under the title: “New Nation Birthed in Prayers by the WORD.”
The video shared the burden for Nigeria, the spiritual journey that had begun in 2019, the changing realities of the nation, and the conviction that the transformation of a nation must begin with the people of God returning to the place of prayer.
The message was not intended to be the work of one individual. It was a call for believers to stand together. And people responded.
Among those who connected with the vision were ministers and intercessors, including Pastor Austin from Port Harcourt and Pastor Kingsley from Benin City, among others. Through these relationships, Pastor Austin introduced Pastor Hanson, and within approximately two weeks, a team of believers was mobilized to participate in a 24-hour prayer gathering for Nigeria.
The date chosen was October 1, Nigeria's Independence Day. The purpose was intentional: as the nation remembered its independence, the people of God would gather to seek God for the spiritual, moral, social, and future transformation of the nation.
On October 1, 2022, the 24-hour prayer gathering took place. What began as an overwhelming assignment became a testimony of what God can do when people respond in obedience and unite in prayer. The gathering became a significant spiritual milestone.
The Birth of Watchmen to the Nations
After the 24-hour prayer gathering, participants expressed a conviction that the prayer movement should not end.
The question was simple: If we can pray for Nigeria, why can we not pray for other nations?
The burden began to expand. Nigeria became the starting point, but the vision was always larger. The conviction grew that God was calling His people to stand in the gap for nations across the earth—to pray for governments, families, churches, communities, leaders, institutions, and the spiritual destiny of nations.
It was in this atmosphere of prayer and seeking God that the name Watchmen to the Nations emerged. The name reflects the biblical calling of God's people to watch, pray, discern, intercede, and stand faithfully before God on behalf of others.
The vision was no longer limited to one nation. It became a global call: to gather God's people from the nations to seek God together in prayer.
Thus, Watchmen to the Nations Global was born.
Who We Are
Watchmen to the Nations Global is a Christ-centered, prayer-focused ministry committed to gathering believers across nations to seek God through prayer, intercession, worship, the Word of God, and spiritual fellowship.
We believe that prayer is not a religious exercise but a divine invitation into intimacy with God and participation in His purposes on the earth.
We believe that the Church is called to watch and pray. We believe that nations need more than political solutions, economic strategies, and human institutions. They need men and women who will seek God, stand in the gap, proclaim the truth of the Gospel, and live lives that reflect the holiness and character of Jesus Christ.
We therefore seek to cultivate a global community of believers who are:
- Deeply intimate with God through prayer
- Rooted and established in the Word of God
- Committed to holy and righteous living
- Passionate about the Gospel of Jesus Christ
- Burdened for the salvation and transformation of nations
- Kingdom-minded rather than self-centered
- Faithful in intercession and spiritual watchfulness
- Prepared to serve God in every sphere of society
Our Continuing Prayer Rhythm
Following the original 24-hour prayer gathering, the ministry established an ongoing rhythm of prayer.
Monthly Global Prayer Gathering
We gather on the first Monday of every month for a dedicated time of united prayer. This monthly gathering provides an opportunity for believers across nations to come together to worship God, pray for the Church, intercede for nations, pray for leaders and governments, stand against violence, injustice, and corruption, pray for families and communities, cry out for revival and spiritual awakening, seek the salvation of the nations, and pray for God's Kingdom to come and His will to be done on earth.
Annual 24-Hour Prayer Gathering
Each year, we also gather for an extended 24-hour prayer watch. This annual prayer gathering was born from the original 24-hour prayer for Nigeria on October 1, 2022. The 24-hour prayer watch represents our conviction that the people of God must remain spiritually awake and continually intercede for the nations. We believe that when the Church prays, hearts can be changed, communities can be transformed, leaders can be influenced, and nations can be brought before the throne of God.
Our Mission
Watchmen to the Nations Global exists to gather God's people from every nation into deeper intimacy with Jesus Christ through prayer, worship, the Word of God, and the power of the Holy Spirit; to awaken the Church to its responsibility to watch and intercede for nations; to call believers to holy living and wholehearted obedience to God; and to raise Kingdom-minded disciples who will proclaim the Gospel, serve humanity, and faithfully advance the purposes of God on the earth.
Our Vision
To see nations awakened through prayer, transformed by the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and filled with believers who walk in intimacy with God, live in holiness, stand faithfully in intercession, and advance the Kingdom of God in every sphere of society.
“The earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD as the waters cover the sea.”
— Habakkuk 2:14
Our Core Calling
At the heart of Watchmen to the Nations Global is a simple but powerful calling:
WATCH
To remain spiritually awake.
PRAY
To stand before God on behalf of people and nations.
LIVE HOLY
To reflect the character of Jesus Christ.
PROCLAIM
To make the Gospel known.
SERVE
To demonstrate the love and compassion of Christ.
ADVANCE THE KINGDOM
To live for God's purposes rather than merely for ourselves.
Our Foundational Conviction
We believe that prayer must be more than a response to crisis.
Prayer is a lifestyle. Prayer is intimacy with God. Prayer is spiritual warfare. Prayer is intercession. Prayer is partnership with God. Prayer is the place where the Church receives direction, strength, wisdom, and grace to fulfill its assignment in the earth.
For this reason, Watchmen to the Nations Global is not built around a personality, a denomination, a political ideology, or a particular nation. It is built around Jesus Christ. Our ultimate desire is that Christ would be glorified among the nations.
We believe that the transformation of nations begins with the transformation of hearts. The transformation of hearts begins with the Gospel. And the people of God must be willing to stand before God in prayer for the fulfillment of His purposes.
Our Global Call
The world is in desperate need of hope, truth, righteousness, peace, and spiritual awakening. The Church must not sleep while the world suffers.
The people of God are called to watch. We are called to pray. We are called to stand in the gap. We are called to proclaim the Gospel. We are called to live holy lives. We are called to serve our generation. We are called to seek the Kingdom of God.
We are called to pray for our nations—not because we believe that human beings are the saviours of nations, but because we believe that Jesus Christ is Lord over the nations.
Therefore, Watchmen to the Nations Global is a call to believers everywhere:
Come and watch. Come and pray. Come and seek the Lord. Come and stand in the gap for the nations. Come and live for the Kingdom of God.
From one person's burden for Nigeria, God began to form a global prayer movement.
From a personal prayer room, a corporate altar was built.
From one nation, the burden expanded to the nations.
And the journey continues.
